Beschreibung

This course is based on the online course “Statistical Learning” from the Stanford University. The online course teaches the basics of analyzing business data with linear and non-linear methods (e.g., LDA or regression trees).
The students of this course learn how to use the data analysis methods in practical sessions. Real-world as well as simulated data are analyzed by using the programming language R. Students learn R statements for preparing and analyzing data and they learn how to interpret the results. The students not only will learn how to apply some specific methods, they also get an overview of existing statistical learning methods.
